Information on the Ukraine Situation

Nobody expected this special dynamic and dramatic development in the conflict between Ukraine and Russia. The armed conflicts and their consequences shall again result in the world and us having to face great challenges.
I wish to assure you today, that we are treating the situation very seriously in addition to us monitoring it intensively.
We are also closely exchanging information with our business partners in addition to us reacting to the changing situation, the political measures adopted by the governments, and the restrictions that these involve in an ongoing manner.
We shall inform you without delay should the crisis have a worsening effect on the deliverability of our products. It is however very difficult to foresee specific effects due to the diverse possible and short-term restrictions.
Not only does this have an effect on the upstream processes along the delivery chain, but also the downstream ones.
It is to be assumed that additional difficulties shall arise along the logistics chain, examples being capacity bottlenecks in cargo spaces or the general availability of means of transport.
The current situation in the fuel markets is taking a dramatic turn for the entire transport segment, so that drastic price increases are being determined.
The prices for important primary products and especially for plastic are also currently being subjected to a new increase.
The markets are reacting in an extreme manner and the prices currently appear to be overheated. We hope that these market turbulences shall settle down soon.
Please also note that the Ukraine-Russia crisis and the continued restricted availability of materials can result in longer delivery times and spontaneous delivery date delays.
Please therefore state your needs as early as possible so that we can take this into account in our planning.
